Message from the President
Welcome to the Consett Rotary website.
We are a modern, inclusive organisation that is about enabling all kinds of people to connect with each other to bring about positive change in our local and international communities.
Consett Rotary welcomes people of all ages, of all backgrounds, sexual identity, cultures, and religion/ no faith.
Like all Rotary Clubs we believe in ‘Service before Self’. The bonus is the pleasure and satisfaction when giving, as well as the friendship we all enjoy as members. We are lucky we have a strong team in Consett who use their expertise to work on the wide range of charity projects we undertake locally, nationally and internationally. See Rotary Myths
Rotary is fun with a purpose - a lot of fun. See some Photos
- Each meeting is fun. Food is available if you want it, we have entertaining speakers and sometimes we just chat with other members.
- The club projects are fun. We link with other clubs and community groups. it’s a chance to meet new people and to enjoy helping others in our community. We get ‘stuck in’ to things like gardens, festivals, community events and sports activities. Opportunities to travel are also available. See some of our work
- Social activities are fun. Eating seems to feature a lot! Mega fund-raising events like our famous Pavilion Chinese evening, trips out, BBQ, sports, walks, wine and beer tasting, casino nights anything within reason is considered!
If you are looking to be involved in a new interest and a change? Then Rotary could be the answer. Come along and meet us. See how you can get involved
Rotary is a global humanitarian organisation of over 1.2 million volunteers.
‘Serving to Change Lives’ is at the heart of what we do – we connect in supporting our communities to create sustainable change around the world. You’re welcome to join any of our Thursday night meetings and volunteer with us on our projects. Please get in touch – we’d love to hear from you!
Owing to the pandemic we are meeting online via zoom but hopefully in the early autumn we will be back to meetings in person.
