Consett Rotary provides young people with an opportunity to develop leadership skills in a safe environment. We call it RYLA for short.

RYLA stands for Rotary Youth Leader Awards and it does what it says on the tin.

​

Each Year Consett Rotary provides opportunities for a few lucky local young people to attend a week long adventure with the Wilderness Outdoor Education group in Cotherstone, Co Durham.

​

Here they meet and interact with other young people and participate in junior leadership activities in the outdoors.

​

The leadership and team working skills they learn give them the confidence to face life’s many challenges and they forge new friendships.

​

As one RYLA delegate said:

“”I made so many new friends that I will be keeping in touch with. 

Life is full of new challenges and experiences, it's been brill !!!”
